5 Easy Steps to go through your Application
Those are the 5 easy steps to go through your application. We will support you from the very beginning and over the last years we have brought over 5000 students from all over the world to Switzerland. Important is that you keep deadlines and follow those steps in all details to be successful. Step 1: Application Form

Once you get an entry confirmed, you then would have to transfer the registration fee of CHF 2800.-- (later as well all other fees) to:

Reason for Payment: student number, FAMILY NAME(S), First Name(s)

The following documents are part of the application:
Application form
Five recent passport photographs (3.5 x 4.5 cm), make sure background is white or grey, if color it might be refused
Certificate of good health made out by a licensed physician. A specific form for your doctor can be downloaded from here.
Students transferring from recognised hotel-tourism management schools must also include official transcripts or records for each semester of the previous course of study
Most countries request as well following material
Bank Statement in the students name
Evidence of English certification
Letter of intend (how to write such a letter? some tips online)
Letter of motivation (some tips on how such a letter could look like online)
Step 2: Provisional Letter of Acceptance
If your application is successful, and the requested course is still available, you will be sent a Provisional Letter of Acceptance. The CHF 2 800.- Semester Registration Fee should then be paid at once. Full bank details are indicated in the Provisional Letter of Acceptance. If, for any reason, the above payment cannot be made by the set deadline, please contact the Registrar to request an extension. Check here for online currency translator. Note: If the Registration Fee is not paid on time, the course place will no longer be guaranteed.
Step 3: Letter of Acceptance
This is issued and sent together with general information upon receipt of the Registration Fee payment. This letter is necessary to apply for the visa. Important: The balance of your school fees must reach the Schools account at the latest 8 weeks before the course begins. IMI is generally fully booked and cannot guarantee the course place any longer if the payments are not received on time.
Step 4: Visa
In many countries outside Europe, students have to submit an application for an entry visa to Switzerland. This application is done at the nearest Swiss Embassy or Consulate, and may take up to 8 weeks. The Registrar will inform you about your particular situation. If you are applying through IMI Representatives, they will inform you about the details of the visa application process. Visa collection at the Swiss Embassy or Consulate: This is done as soon as the visa authorization has been issued by the Swiss Immigration Office. IMI Registrar will inform you accordingly. Note: In some countries, students must pay their full academic semesters fees before the visa can be processed.
Step 5: Arrival in Switzerland, free airport transfer from Zürich
Students doing their first year of studies are welcomed at Zürich airport, and driven to IMI free of charge. Please inform our Registrar This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The new security regulations for hand luggage
On all flights, only limited quantities of liquds may be taken on board in your hand luggage. However, liquids may be carried in checked-in luggage as before. These regulations apply at all airports within the EU, and in Switzerland, Iceland and Norway. For further information regarding airport security, please follow the link through here.
New Visa regulations as of 2009 means easy travel for IMI students
The Federal Council decided on a new regulation for any permit B holder (students at IMI). This means, that for all B- or C- Permit holders, it is much easier to travel around in Europe. There will be no necessarity anymore to get Visas for short holidays in the Schengen Countries like Germany, Austria, Italy or France. Nontheless prior to every travell you should get information from the ambassy of the country you intend to travel to about any regulations. Of course it is also necessity to bring Passports and Swiss Permits.
